When I saw this video I decided to buy a blendtec. It's a good blender if you use liquid always you still need a plunger even though blendtec says you don't when making ice cream and nut butters you have to stop the blender and push everything down.? So I went to Costco bought the vitamix tried it out and loved it I was able to make ice cream with just frozen strawberries and bananas no liquid. Also you can not walk away from the blendtec it jumps when you put hard frozen food. Vitamix is better

what about other things Vitamix does other? than just veggie & fruit smoothies?

One horsepower for rating electric motors is equal? to? 746 watts. Blendtec total blender has 1560 watts. If it was 3 horsepower it would have 2238+ watts.

You know those blenders are all self? cleaning right?
By: fullbodyhealth. on 06 Oct 11, 18:32:01
@PE425 First off "it will? launch the food higher, making it even harder and time consuming to blend the ingredients properly." That's what the tamper is for and it takes a lot less time to use it than it does to chop everything in to little pieces for the Blendtec. Second of all "with the VM, you get to replace expensive blades / gaskets that cost the same? as entirely new Blentec jar," The Blendtec blades cannot be replaced, you have to get a whole new container.
By: fullbodyhealth. on 06 Oct 11, 18:15:12
What a great example of a completely biased demonstration. The only thing he had to say bad about the vitamix blade and container is that is was too "tight at the bottom".? Since I'm sure that Blendtec designed their whole container so that it was easy to get sticky stuff out of the bottom...and not to blend things. I've personally heard dozens of first hand testimonies from Blendtec users and most of them were quite disappointed, and ended up returning it and getting a Vitamix.

which one? has been known to last decades.....
By: rawlife4me. on 10 Sep 11, 14:33:25
>>>>>>>I was told that the Blendtec Blender with 4 blades and the wider "craft" does not make good smoothies. It has a hard time blending frozen fruit compared to the Vitamix which does it perfectly. It would be nice to see a video blending frozen fruit!!!!!!

Good information, I go for the Vitamix anyways! ? -only because you can change the bearing on the carrafe. -less parts in the machine. -excellent warranty. Vitamix Rocks!

@blenderdudeTV Didn't you also say not to run? all the blenders on at once from the same plug?
By: PE425. on 31 Jul 11, 18:54:39
@blenderdudeTV, It wasn't long enough to make any difference before Angela utilized the high speed, which is a kinard anyway. Simply acknowledge how much faster the Blendtec blended in both tests. It wouldn't make much difference exactly when Angela hit HS. Everyone can? question her timing, but the Blendtec's superior performance results are not questionable. Matt could have turned off the Blendtec about 50% in the cycle, as it was already smoothly blended. Blendtec wins... Game over!!
By: ajohnson. on 25 Jul 11, 19:06:37
Blendtec vs Vitamix blendtec is 3 lbs lighter, has 3 hp compared to 2 hp vitamix, does dry ingredients in the same container (grains/rice to flour, grinds coffee, etc), the 4 inch blade model holds more capacity and does not need a tamper, and it is lower in? cost. Case closed blendtec is better then vitamix and that's why vitamix tried to copy blendtec's technology and got sued and lost.

A couple caveats on these results: Matt, using the HP3A, uses the Speed Up control on his Blendtec to go? to the High setting - a recommended method. Angela waits 12 seconds on the apples and 22 seconds on the salad before utilizing the High speed on the Vitamix. Tipper does her blending on both the apples and salad with the Pulse button. The ladies' aren't "wrong" but there are more effective ways for them to do this specific blending task, thus effecting results in favor of Matt's blender/jar.
By: TheLoserKingdom. on 08 Jul 11, 10:04:47
Vitamix also has a 4.2 HP blender, the Vitamix XL. It's over $1000 US though... over $4000 in Australia.?
By: PE425. on 06 Jul 11, 15:39:20
@chtterbxer, You don't know what you are talking about. She used the VM properly. If you simply blast the VM on high too quickly, it will launch the food higher,? making it even harder and time consuming to blend the ingredients properly. As for wrnty, with the VM, you get to replace expensive blades / gaskets that cost the same as entirely new Blentec jar, while the warranty on the Blendtec blade / coupling is a lifetime warranty. Shaking the Blendtec jar proves you are using it incorrectly.
By: chtterbxer. on 01 Jul 11, 02:55:01
LOL...What a moron. First of all... try using the Vitamix? properly. You didn't even turn it to high speed until way late. I use to have a Blendtec but brought it back to Costco and returned it for a Vitamix. The few things they demonstrate they didn't need a tamper, but when you bring it home and try to use it, you have to shake it or use a wooden spoon to mix it. I read the warranty also and found that the VM is completely covered while the Blendtec is not. Also look at consumer guide...VM #1.
By: PE425. on 30 Jun 11, 19:44:01
@MaryKays1, the Blendtec on the othr hand, does NOT need a tamper. With a VM, you have no choice to "like" a? tamper. You are forced to like it, so saying you like a tamper is nothing more than an indefensible rationalization.
By: marykays1. on 24 Jun 11, 18:36:18
Vita-Mix does have a 3hp blender, just like the Blendtec...It's called the Vita-Prep. and what I like about it is that it DOES have a tamper (pusher) that Blendtec does? not have. Thanks for posting this. You should all be wearing hearing protectors. I always do when I'm only using one blender!
