But when Bear tells me to jump into a raging river to float to civilization, to risk being smashed against a rock, to break a leg while I'm trying to survive, I'll pass on that. Les Stroud is much more common sensical, which is what you want in survival situations. less dramatic, and people tend to prefer entertainment over facts.

@martar49 Exactly! Honestly,? I'm a big Stroud fan, and Bear less. If you really want to get a lot of info from a survival show you really should check out dual survival. Les is very informative, for sure, but the guys on dual survival REALLY know what they are talking about to. Biggest point though, if you think you can survive out in the wilderness because you watched the shows, you can't. PRACTICE PRACTICE PRACTICE, the skills. You will be surprised how little you know.

@ryandude1994 when they describe amps as sounding "british" they're usually referring to the amp manufacturers which come from the UK, specifically to? the marshall sound but can also refer to manufacturers such as hi watt and vox. For me the british sound comes from el34 tubes or akin to them like the el84's here, as opposed to the american sound which came from 6l6 and 6v6 tubes in fender amps. Of course guitarists all over the world were/are using british amps. Just wanted to clear that up =)

If the Marshall engineers aren't listening.............they better be! This amp is very well thought out and if you love the British Rock concept... This amp is perfect.....I? like it better than the Marshall Haze. Built in modeling effects aren't really needed because a Boss modeling pedal is far superior. Awesome, it's not easy? for anyone to be honest about this stuff let alone a celebrity. I have no doubt that there are sasquatch in Algonquin Park because I had a bigfoot sighting near there when I was 14 (I'm 54). Just caught a glimpse but it was enough to tell me that it wasn't a moose or bear. I was the only one to see it but the others could tell by the soundsize of it that it was huge and were terrified it was a bear. Me I was comparably calm because I knew it was way too tall to be bear!

Possibly Stroud when he first told of his encounter with this unknown was like a lot of people and a bit embarassed to speak? of his belief that it was a sasquatch, so he just normalized the story by saying that he thought it was a momma bear making a warning sign. If Sasquatwatcher will allow me to say what I experienced. I was camping in 1994, with a friend, around the Sasquatch Inn, in BC. And we heard a wail/shriek that was deafening. It didn't echo and felt maybe five miles or so away, but it was very loud. If? a human did it, they could only be maybe 200 meters away at most, but it was everywhere, and pinpointing it would be hard with the foothills. My friend thought it was a Coyote attacking a domestic dog. That is not the sound I heard. :) :P

I was in an area about an hour from Vancouver. Me and my friend were looking for shrooms, and we heard a god awefull shriek/howl. My friend thought it was a coyote attacking a dog. We had foothills around us and the sound didn't echo. I? immediately thought it was a Squatch. We were very near an Inn called the Sasquatch Inn. We were out camping for a few days, but I didn't associate Sasquatch with the area. after it happened my friend was watching a Bigfoot doc, and recognized the sound. :P

I wish Les Stroud would come back for another season, he had the most realistic show. While I still give Bear respect, the things he does are NOT smart things to do in survival situations. Jumping off a waterfall? Climbing down a waterfall in freezing weather? Floating through rapids? Wouldn't it be safer to spend an extra hour an walk around? these obstacles? Ok Les might not have as much excitement, but he might teach you a few things that will stop you from dying.

While I consider Survivorman the only true survivor show even Les isn't willing to die to make a TV show. While he is alone he does have a backup crew within a few miles and I'm sure carried GPS with him. Bear goes out sets up a scene and after its shot he goes back to the hotel. Bear showboats instead of survives.? You gonna jump off a 50 ft waterfall in a survival situation? Hardly.

He also directly states that people should not try attempt solo unless they have been through training with skilled individuals, watching a TV show and reading a book does not count. The disclaimer at the start of his show warns against this. In no way can Les be blamed for that man's death.
